What Revit versions are supported?
Revit 2023 through 2027. We align with each new release so your automated MEP tagging workflow stays current with your Revit upgrade cycle, so there are no gaps in annotation coverage.
Is Autotag available in my language?
Yes, in 13 languages. Autotag follows your Revit's language: English, Chinese (Simplified and Traditional), Czech, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Polish, Portuguese (Brazil), Russian and Spanish. You can switch any time in Help.
Which disciplines and elements are supported?
All MEP disciplines - Mechanical (ductwork), Electrical, and Plumbing (piping) - plus general architectural elements. Configure profiles for any combination of categories to cover your full documentation set.
Does it work with linked and cloud models?
Yes. Linked models, BIM 360 / ACC workshared cloud models, and models hosted in any Autodesk server region. If the model is loaded in Revit, Autotag can tag it.
Will it work with my existing families?
Yes. Autotag is built into Revit and places your own tag families: existing templates, custom families and native families, no special families required. Map tags to any parameter defined on your elements during profile setup.
How does Bimrock compare to other tools?
Bimrock is MEP-specific, not a generic add-in. Floating licenses on team plans, cloud processing, and shareable profiles starting at $49/mo with every Revit version included. Annotation is just the start. We're building toward a full automated MEP design platform.
How does Autotag decide where each tag goes?
Each tag in your profile has placement rules: inside the element, next to it, around it, or outside the crop region for sections, with automatic fallback when the first choice has no room. Tags avoid overlapping each other and the model. A tag can also try a second tag type, above or below a pipe, and keep whichever fits. A tag with no clear spot is still placed and marked red, so you fix only the few that need you.
What can I customize in a profile?
Pick categories across MEP or General disciplines, tag families, filters and placement rules. Filter by element type, system type, direction or minimum length, or tag only where a duct's size or flow changes. Quick Setup builds a first profile from a view you already tagged by hand. Set up once, then reuse across projects and views.
Can my whole team tag to the same standard?
Yes. A profile holds your office standard: share it, and every designer's sheets come out tagged the same way, the intern's like the senior designer's. That means fewer QC surprises and redlines. Shareable profiles are part of the Firms/Studios plan.
Can I edit tags after placement?
Yes. The Arrange Tags palette selects tags with one box, aligns them, lines up their elbows, and sorts a tangled cluster into one tidy column. A tag Autotag could not place in a clear spot is marked red, and the Jobs panel takes you to each one.
Can I batch-process multiple views?
Yes. Autotag uses job queues for batch tagging. Select multiple views, or open a sheet to queue every view on it, apply your profile, and the queue processes them while you keep working. Tag an entire building's documentation set in a single operation.
How much time will I save?
Most users save 30-60 minutes per floor plan compared to manual tagging. Batch processing can save hours on full documentation sets. Time savings compound across projects. A 30-floor building with 5 MEP disciplines means hundreds of views.
Do you support dimensioning or text formatting?
Dimensioning is in Beta: Autotag can add dimensions too, and the Arrange Tags palette has dimension tools. Text formatting (font, size, color) is managed by your Revit tag families, not by Autotag.
How does licensing work?
Each license is tied to a person's sign-in (their Autodesk ID), not a machine; admins reassign them from Account, on the Bimrock tab in Revit. A 5-license plan serves 10-20 designers since not everyone needs access at once. Freelancers/Consultants is one named-user license; teams have 1 fixed admin plus floating.
Is there a free trial?
Yes. Every plan includes a 60-day free trial with full access to all features, no credit card required. Requires an active Revit 2023 - 2027 license.
What's included in Enterprise pricing?

Is there a discount for yearly billing?
Yes. Yearly plans include 2 months free, roughly 17% savings compared to monthly billing. Both Freelancers/Consultants and Firms/Studios plans offer yearly pricing.
How do I update my plan or manage billing?
Contact us at billing@bimrock.ai for plan changes, upgrades, or pricing questions. Payments are processed by Paddle, our merchant of record. Subscription terms, including renewal, are shown at checkout and in our Terms of Service.
Is my model data safe?
Model data is never used to train large language models and is never shared with third parties for their own use. Processing runs on Google Cloud Platform (GCP), encrypted in transit and at rest. Data is deleted within 60 days of your last request. See Privacy Policy.
Do you use my data to train large language models?
No. We do not use your project data to train large language models. Your project data is processed solely to perform the functions you request: annotation placement, profile application, and batch processing.
Who owns the output?
You do. All reports, tagged views, and exported data you generate are your intellectual property. Customer data is confidential, never disclosed to third parties for their own use, and never used to train large language models. See our Terms of Service.
Where is my data stored and how is it protected?
Infrastructure is hosted on Google Cloud Platform with industry-standard security certifications. All data is encrypted in transit and at rest using best-in-class security practices. Usage data is aggregated and strictly excludes the geometric or proprietary design content of your files.
What support is included?
All plans include community support, email support where we aim to respond within 24 hours, and short tutorial videos, in the plugin and on this site. Anyone can schedule an onboarding or deep-discovery session via our booking page.
How do Firms/Studios and Enterprise differ?
Firms/Studios get priority response times and guided onboarding. Enterprise customers get a dedicated account representative, co-creation of annotation profiles, and a custom SLA.
